Thing that sticks out for me is all the shelled corn with cobs, remember there was slotted grates in elevator to let shelled corn fall into pails..Corn cribs were rats heaven

Think fall of '72 big snowfall early and no pickers were running. Dad had bought a used MF 510 and it came with a 4 row ch., he still picked corn on the ear,had never put ch on. That yr. harvested on frozen ground with combine. Never used picker again. Local elevators could only dry max. of 600 bu. hr. so long waits...and those days con came out of field at 25%+ in November...
