Social Security payments will be enough to pay your monthly utility bills and the bare essentials. The difference between the 65 payment and the 70 payment was not enough to wait, not in my figuring at least! What looks like a lot today, wont buy as much 5 years from now, and WAIT is a four letter word ! I go for the sure thing in my decisions as much as possible, and we may not be around by the time we are 70. That is reality.
My father in law wasa full time farmer, and his accountant tax man advised him to keep on working, and dont fuss about the SS payments, which in his case would not change his life either way. And the idea that you can take SS and travel? Good luck, you won't travel far on SS.
Wait until 70 and get more money? Uncle Sam thinks you will expire before then.....
