| John, Sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Perhaps you should consider a closed casket service and choose to remember your father as he looked in life. My family has always been against traditional "viewings". When my sister died we had a closed casket visitation for family the evening before. Public visitation was 1 hour before the service with an open casket per my brother in laws wishes. My brother in law, wife and I greeted friends and my parents came in after the casket was closed at the start of the service. Everyone has to grieve in their own way. | |
