In green stemmed beans don't be afraid to run on the high side of the cylinder. I routinely run in the 500-600 range depending on how tough the stems are. I will only run on the low side when the beans are dead ripe and dry. If the beans are really tough to thresh you can comfortably go higher than 600. Don't get married to any of the factory recommended settings as they are not reliable.
