I have a starlink antenna on one building with excellent coverage and the starlink ethernet cabled router in the same building. In another building about 150 feet away, I have a starlink mesh router and it has good (green on the app) signal. There is another building I'd like wifi to that is another 150 beyond that 2nd building. I could try another mesh router (starlink recommends 3 max mesh routers). I am wondering if it would be better to use ethernet cable from the second to the third building. Would ethernet cable be desired over another mesh router?
IMO cable is always to be preferred over wireless.
Not that wireless doesn't work just that wireless is indiscriminate - - - - anyone can harvest the signals within range so I work very much toward wired rather than wireless.
One of my base principals is that security ALWAYS ;trumps convenience.
If you look into something called openwrt you might find solid ways of getting more than 3 mesh routers but I'm not guaranteeing that - - - just betting that that's a somewhat arbitrary commercial limitation.
(Warning openwrt is opensource - - - - ie NOT M$ based.) |
