Colfax Indiana | I know for a fact that 2 breeders get together and bid on each other's bulls from time to time. Not to the extent of the OP, but in a similar vein.
Breeder A will sell the 'top' bull at the start of the sale, and it will bring over $30K, sold to an 'internet bidder'. That is to give the impression that the $15K bulls with similar genetics are cheap. However, the top bull was bought by breeder B.
Then when breeder B has his sale, his top bull also brings $30K or better, by an 'internet bidder' who also just happens to be breeder A.
