Kingston,Mi | Locally a hay cubing co-op was started and they were either wilting then chopping or if the member was further away, baling then delivering to a central site. On my way home from work one day, a pickup with round bales came around the corner as I was stopped at a traffic light. several of the bales were visibly steaming. Co-op died an early death and another private enterprise took over the site before the place might have caught fire. Most of the members knew that some livestock ate hay so how could they lose and a year of hay then mold boarded down would solve a least a hundred years of depleting row crops and compaction from wet fall harvests. | |
