I tried it once. Of course yield was lower, was harder to harvest too.
One good thing is that I interseeded cover crops too and they grow a lot more since more sunlight.
If I had animals that grazed my fields it would be a great deal. I’ve seen guys that do the wide rows and animal feed thing say it saves them thousands of dollars since they’re not purchasing tons of feed from other producers.
