Subject: Be very careful with Intuit software.

Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning.

I was lucky enough to buy a CD version of Quicken 2017 in 2017. It is the last version of the program that you actually own and don't need to pay a yearly or monthly fee to use. I installed it on Windows 10 and it worked perfectly. I recently upgraded to a newer CPU and Windows 11. The program installed but wouldn't access my data unless I "upgraded" to the fee version. Luckily, I remembered an old trick from my early Windows days and was able to regain full functionality, except for online access to my CC and banking accounts. Absent that, you are pretty much at the mercy of Intuit (Quicken & Quick Books) to pay their ransom.
Proceed at your own risk or be prepared to pay.
