NW IA | I liked everything about mowing the stalks with my mower conditioner except the wear on the knives and the scant residue after baling.
I don't think it was as hard on the baler as directly raked and baled stalks. Maybe it was the rake angle or ground conditions, maybe fewer root balls pulled.
I thought mowed stalks were cleaner and there was less stress on the pick-up teeth.
Maybe conditions this fall will be very different. The corn head may be another variable, mine is a 1043 CIH
