Southern Missouri | 2023 was t40 , 2024 is xag pro 100, we’ve done 2 gpa and we’ve done 3 gpa trying to see if gpa at varying levels and widths made much difference, t40 has to fly slower at 3 gpa , xag will travel as fast at 3 gpa as it will at 2 gpa , speed didn’t really make as much difference as we thought it might except with the t40 at slower speed to put out 3 gpa really cut down on acres per hour but not much difference in pattern , both those drones use a centrifugal spinner nozzle which look very similar to each other , xag has much bigger pumps as does a t50 , nozzles are mounted almost same distance apart on each so weren’t real surprised that both needed about same height and width to really give a good pattern . We had a neighbor right by us use a t50 on sesbania , it was tall and green , and it was also streaked like crazy , we shared with him what we were doing on pattern , he asked the fellow who did it how wide of pattern he was running, 32 ft was the reply , there was 5 ft wide streaks that looked like had no chemical at all on them and the adjoining plants got a little deader looking as you went in to center of flight path , 6 foot tall Sesbania streaked like that you can see driving by in a pickup at 100 mph , Sesbania is a tough sum buck , neighbors custom applicator came back and sprayed the streaks , why not do it right the first time , neighbors applicator told him his dealer told him he could do a 32 ft swath , he also told our neighbor he’s had to go back and fix several desication jobs ,by the way as always just my opinion but when you’re doing desication, an opinion doesn’t do much good , good chemical spread pattern does,we decided we liked 23 to 24 ft swath best on t40 , kinda depending if dead calm or not and 22 to 24 ft on the xag same factors
