X2 "low salt" starter is a joke.

Not really much you can cut even at yields around here it would be less than crop removal... Plus no phos on the beans so really going backwards already.

When crop prices are down everyone cuts back to make stuff pencil when fert is cheap. And go backwards on soil test.
Then when crop prices are high nobody applies because they arent going to spend 2x on what it was when crops were cheap... And go backwards on soil test....


Low salt has it's place especially in ease of handling and how clean it is going through the planter.

But the rest of your comments I can agree with.

200 bushel corn roughly removes:
80 # p205 or 175 # Dap
80 # K20 or 135 # Potash

60 bushel beans roughly remove:
48 # p205 or 110 # Dap
108 # K20 or 180 # Potash

I run a little higher K replacement than some others because "Here" K values won't keep up at the tristate recs.
