NW IA | I know it would drive 95% of the posters here crazy, but my hay customers tell me 4X5 bales save a lot of hay. More head room in the ring and more frequent feeding so the hay is more "fresh".
No personal experience, my 4x5's are all sold.
Dad and I started out with bale rings feeding 5x6 purchased hay, but the waste was awful and we had the option of fence line feeding and bumping the hay forward as needed so quit the ring feeders. | |
