RR Valley, ND; MN native | So, my mom passed away a few weeks back. My sister and I will inherit some farmland in MN once the estate stuff is all settled.
There is a renter (of about 25yrs) who we will continue to let rent but one question I have is how do we find out what the going rates for rent in the area are? This fellow is probably retiring in the next few years (will rent next year for sure, don't know after). Not looking to jack with him (we are not greedy) but want to see where we are.
What ag office in the county or state would one ask this and how accurate would their info be? My dad used to visit the "ACS office" in the town where the county seat is but that must now have a different name?
