Max length of any run is 4000' with one strainer in the middle per wire with post at 100' max. Over 4000' you are supposed to tie off on a brace and start a new wire separate from the first. I'll install a gate in mile long runs to stay under 4000'. That's for permanent but for temporary, I just stretch and go.
