Can someone with experience give me an idea on how accurate silage yield checks are? I have heard of a few this year in different areas and was curious if anyone can say how accurate the adjusters are.

It depends soooo much on what "growth stage" they choose. The closest you can get to harvest the better. But even then, if they pick an ear that's further along than the average and then start weighing them, it will wreck your yield.

Dad had a couple chuckleheads. I've had pretty good adjusters that can stand in a field, look at an ear and say does this jive with that?

All that being said, I've never taken an adjustment field to dry grain harvest so I don't know.
