This applies to anything that requires subsidy from anything other than the market to make it work financially.
Oddly enough, most of the things that are being pushed that won't stand on their own feet are somehow related to "climate". Cover crops, wind energy, solar energy, carbon sequestration, SAV, etc; none of them work without being heavily subsidized.
