Plus you have to size the solar array big enough to not only power the house during the day but also charge the batteries for night. Actually for more like 16 or more hours when the sun isn’t higher overhead.
I installed 1200 watts of panels on my camper and a 5.12 kWh lithium battery. Went five weeks camping without plugging into shore power. But limited draw except for fridge and a 9000 btu mini-split doing either heating or ac all night.
But a house is an order of magnitude more.
