Spent many years cutting and housing tobacco on Labor Day. It was an every year thing up through the 90's.
You set tobacco on Memorial day, cut and housed tobacco on Labor Day and stripped tobacco on Thanksgiving Day.
Growing tobacco was hard work but it paid for many farms through the years. Back then families did most of the work along with swapping out Labor with neighbors. Miss those times.
