Subject: Who else feels Labor Day is depressing?

Ludington/Manistee MI area

Days are noticeably shorter……not a good thing.
For all practical purposes tractor pulling season is over.
Kids go back to school so it’s harder to do things as a family.
Weather is getting cooler not unheard of to have a killing frost in September.
You look back at all the things that you hoped to have done over the summer that didn’t happen and feel sad.
Before you know it’s October and the pissy lake effect drizzle starts and well all that leads to is lake effect snow.
You realize harvest is a month away ok this year more like 6 weeks and still A LOT OF STUFF TO DO.
Really nothing fun happening here till the 3rd week of June.  That’s a long time off.

I remember as a kid HATING the end of summer and 40 plus years later I still hate it.  I’ve equated it to the year going on hospice.

Honestly it doesn’t look less ominous until roughly St Patrick’s day or Holy Week.

I’m  a person who tries to find something to look forward to when most everything is in the rear view mirror that’s challenging.
