Shenandoah Valley, VA | Just a follow up post to one I made a few weeks ago on new stock trailers. Appreciate all of those replies. Have been doing more shopping and comparing and about had my mind made up on a new Eby Wrangler 7.5x22 (slat) with one floating cut gate.
But then decided to go take a look at some others one more time and got a quote on a Wilson Ranch Hand 7x24 (punch) with one fixed and one floating gate. Was surprised that it was actually cheaper than the Eby, even after adding on a few things above the base model (e.g. wider side door, tie rail inside, etc.). And more than just a few hundred.
I know both of these have good reputations. I’m not used to a punch style or riveted trailer and the thinner Wilson sides flexing might take some getting used to, but obviously they must hold up based on their popularity.
Not a true apples to apples comparison given the different dimensions and cut gates, though total square footage should be similar. But for a cow calf operation and hauling a few show calves, would either of the above options make you lean one way or the other, or want to pay more for the Eby? Appreciate any opinions. | |
