I'll second that. I have a fleet of TP-Link / Kasa smart plugs and smart switches. Some are configured to turn off after 30 minutes if you leave them on. I have one that turns on at sunset and turns off at 11pm. My air compressor is in another building and I can remotely turn it on/off. They do require Internet access though.
