Subject: RE: JD 310 D auxiliary hydraulics

Even if you had enough flow I think it would be hard to use on a 310D. A 310D has an open center hydraulic system and you will be probably using almost all the pump out put to run the grinder. This will cause one of two things depending on the order of the backhoe valve stack. Either 1- the auxiliary spool will be first in the valve stack. That would cause all the flow to go to the grinder when in operation and leave very little left over flow to move the boom and the stick. 2- if the auxiliary spool is the last in the stack, when you move the boom or the stick it will use most of the pump flow first, so while you are moving the grinder head would slow down significantly.

You could probably do this with the right backhoe, but you would really want something with a closed center system and a very large hydraulic pump so you can move the boom and stick and maintain auxiliary flow.
