That 150 miles is only if you stay in your home state. Unless your state has an apportion agreement with a neighbor state, if you're state have this than as soon as you cross state line you need everything as being commercial. We are in Wisconsin and they have an agreement with Iowa and Minnesota but not Illinois. Been many farmers in are area getting nailed going into Illinois thinking they don't need a cdl and everything else to be legal.
