I agree, spoiled kids making a spectacle when it should be handled in private. Didn’t watch video but can about imagine how it went. Deere is just as stupid trying to push these kind of deals. As has been said, dealer absorbs all that used at probably close to 90 percent of new net and now worth closer to 60 percent

If the trade deal is all that equipment for $158K, it's probably over the dealers net before Deere Market share incentives!

I'm not trying to defend what the dealer did at all, they made a DUMB deal to trade that cheap...but doing a video for social media reactions is equally as dumb, in my opinion. Lots of people not looking at the big picture.

I have also heard there was a follow up video, that this deal was made approximately 2 months ago to trade MY 24 for MY25 equipment, and the dealer called him in to have a meeting about the deal because of what trade values have done since....so, no iron on the ground, not trying to change the deal once the stuff is built, etc...but trying to be a little proactive and cut their losses before they happen. Again, not defending the dealer, because a deal is a deal...but to me, calling a meeting 2 months after order changes the dynamic of the situation versus what some dealers were trying to do a couple years ago changing the deal at the time of DELIVERY.

Neither is right if a deal was made...but one could certainly argue it's better to try and have a conversation about changing markets long before the equipment is expected to be produced rather than wait until the last minute for that conversation??

Personal opinion there...lots of wrong in this particular situation, but we have the advantage of being on the outside looking in!
