See if there's willow growing nearby to harvest for that purpose, if you're interested in a low input method. Reed canary grass is another very solid sod that would anchor a bank, but it's slow to establish from seed. If you could obtain some sod and spread it with a manure spreader, then tamp it in and water and fertilize, it might anchor well enough to hold by spring. A lot depends on what action the erosion takes, the video went into how they classified erosion, but to me the more important thing is whether it's one big spring flood that takes 20', or six months of flow that takes a bit at a time. Heavy equipment is more likely to get attention if that is a factor. | |
