Iowa | Not really a crop issue, but figured I'd ask. We planted a bunch of fruit trees 3-5 years ago - apple, cherry, peach, apricot, pear. These are for personal use. about 2 years ago we got 2-3 peaches off a tree - nothing since, this year a few cherries (talking a handful at most) - the last 2 years it doesnt even seem like the trees flowered. What am I doing wrong? Just seems like theyre going backwards on producing anything, but they look green and healthy - first couple years they'd at least flower. There is an OLD apple tree about 50 yards away that flowers, but produces nothing -- all kinda shut off at the same time. I get that they take some time too, but most of the tags said 1-3 years till bearing fruit. Last 2 years weve had extreme drought, now this spring 100% saturated, so we've had some abnormal weather too. We dont spray the lawn around them, but the first couple years I could see some dicamba hit them. | |
