You don’t realize how critical subsoil moisture is until you don’t have it.
We’re fairing a little better. Had some decent rains in May that must have helped get us through the heat wave a couple weeks ago. Still need rain to finish us out but I think we will harvest everything this year at least.
I’ve seen the no ear thing. 2013. Had a nice looking field all tasseled out with no ears. Even the insurance adjuster couldn’t believe he couldn’t find an ear. He finally adjusted it at .1 bu/acre claiming if he zeroed it out that would cause flags on the claim.
