That is DNS, Dark Northern Spring a red wheat, it is more hardy that most soft white spring varieties. Four years ago the Co-op we buy seed wheat screwed up and mixed spring wheat with out winter wheat. It out grew our winter wheat in the fall and the first hard freeze killed it.
