I wouldn't be concerned with copper toxicity so much as phytotoxicity in this application.

I'm not sure how low of a pH that citric acid will buffer to, but any copper source at a low pH will cause leaf burn. And could be quite severe.

We are pretty careful with copper fungicides like Champ and Badge on dry edible beans not to buffer pH for this very reason.

I would proceed cautiously and/or use an adjuvant that doesn't lower pH.
