South Dakota | Thanks for asking. I am no expert on child development, only reporting what I hear and see. An experienced school teacher first told me about grade school children being trained to crawl on the floor to help with their reading skills, sounded strange at the time. When grandchildren were at that stage I went to work and found it on the internet. Mom read it and quit incourageing walking before crawling. Yes, I agree walking is more advanced/difficult acheivement. I think crawling activates a different part of the brain which also needs practice. I do believe each child is an individual and will have more or less need than another child. It is not a one size fits all. | |
