NE Indiana | I know it's expensive upfront but if you plan to keep the sprayer long term, I would look into one of the new individual nozzle control systems. We went from a 5 section 90' sprayer last year to a 120' 97 section sprayer this year. I'm right at 60 less acres sprayed per pass this season vs last season on 1300 acres. Most fields saw 3 passes. so, 180 acres of chemicals saved I figure around 22 bucks an acre average per pass. Guys farming large acreage can pay for one of those systems in a year or 2. It becomes extremely nice if you have a lot of odd, shaped fields or a lot of waterways as you can make boundaries around them and then spray right through. | |
