Bremen, KS
We have a 7200 12 row planter and the first year it was pulled with my 4430. Over the next winter I bought a 4650 PS 2WD to pull it and it's probably too much tractor but it gets used for other things so it's a wash.

Really, a range of tractors will pull that planter just fine. Anything from a 4440 to a 4960 will handle it without issue. Just make sure it has three hydraulic remotes for the planter. A 4650 probably has more hydraulic capacity than the 4840 which might be a consideration for maintaining constant vacuum unless it's a plate planter.

If in five years you hope to be farming significantly more than 80 acres then buying a nice size tractor now will be a good choice down the road. I would look for a tractor that is already converted to 18.4 x 42 rear tires.
