Westside | is less than yesterday: My wife was diagnosed in 2005 with kidney cancer, took one kidney out, wait and see, the cancer had spread to her spine, tried interleukin therapy in McFarlan clinic in Ames,
basically where they try to kill you 3 times a day for 7 days, chance of cure. Did not work, radiation, chemo pills. Effected her walking, ended up in wheelchair.
Went to Des Moines talked to surgeon, Vietnam Vet, He said I can do the surgery, but you will be in the hospital for six months and maybe die here. His advice was you are in good spirits, enjoy the sunshine. You might find
somebody to do surgery, but I do not think it is best for you. Another thing he mentioned is we are not any closer on curing cancer, we find more of it sooner, and cure that so yes we are better, but some that we find
might of went away by itself.
She passed away in 2007. My wife's nephew, and great niece, daughters mother in-law.
So when I was diagnosed with prostrate cancer, was not going to go the conventional route, it might of slowed it down, don't know.
All I know is in 2019 the surgeon wanted to take out my prostrate, didn't do it, 2024 had HIFU surgery on half my prostrate, probably do the other have if that cancer on the other side gets worse.
A lot has changed since 2005 in cancer cures, God keeps sending more challenges.
Cancer is like weeds, we find things that kill weeds, but Mother Earth finds a way to cover that ground with vegetation some how.
You find one thing that works, and a simple cell will figure out how to outsmart you.
