Thumb of Michigan | Good old Michigan left U turns. If you got to see one that gets used by the 42-wheel gravel trains (Michigan specials, 3-4 axles on lead and 4-5 on pup or just straight 7-8 axle asphalt haulers), there's lots of rubber on the road at those lefts.
Edit: I'm about 15 miles north of Lake Orion, take a Michigan turn around every time I leave my back hay felids. Except traffic doesn't stop for me, so I try to avoid at rush hour (4-6 pm & 6-8am).
