| Garvo- I think you meant that you have fed byproducts before, but have not fed it straight? Because your byproduct was just making you corn "cheaper"? Just wanted to clarify.
4j- The grain feed, comes from wheat. It is a food factory and i take the waste bad batches/anything and everything. The 2nd product is a fine powder that they make and im pretty sure its used as a cheese in somthing..? I really dont ask to many questions, i ran the feed tests and it worked so ive been doing it since.
More about my operation so it makes sense, i have 60 acres. I rent out the cropland to a neighbor, he crops it, i take the stalks off, and spread manure on the land. I am not interested in rowcrop farming but i needed the land to spread my manure so thats why i bought it. That is why i need/want to feed these byproducts because im buying all my corn. Again it may not be for everyone to run like this, but im 28, was not raised on a family farm or have help getting started and i dont know how else to make it pencil other than this way. If had to run a bunch of land, and have the equipment, etc. I dont think i would even consider farming because IMO its not even really possible. | |
