Subject: Two Different Styles of John Deere Hydraulic Drives for a 1770?

Ok, so if you have been following, you will know I am in the process of converting a 787 air cart to variable rate. I recently purchased 2 john deere drives at auction but one appears to have a different style of solenoid than the other? The one that has this smaller solenoid also appears to be missing something as it has a open port (oddly enough where the larger solenoid is located on the other one. What am I missing here? Are these designed to work in tandem?
