If you build a house to accomidate a wheel chair, it will be considerably easier to get furniture in and out
The other huge benefit to that sort of space is the future ease of getting a ambulance stretcher/gurney into all parts of the house. The longer I look at our home, the more I know if either of us has a stroke or heart attack, we'd better go outside to do it!
