A semi that has no transmission or clutch to master, will certainly eliminate a bunch of moving parts and complexity. Seems to be a lot of large fleets that have orders waiting to be filled when trucks become available. Massive expansion going on now, at the Nevada plant that builds the Tesla Semi.
