nw NC | I made picture below in 2008. Some neighbor kids were here with their dad who was helping me do some work. The kids went exploring and went into an old log house on our farm. They came running back and said they saw some big bird in the upstairs floor of the house. I took camera and went to the house with them to identify what they saw. I believe this one is a black vulture as its head is dark.Turkey vulture has red head.
