| Origin has made a real inroad in the irrigation market here. I bought a 350 origin and 8.0 last November... I'm at 2,500 hrs on the 350 this season and it's been absolutely flawless so far. Only add oil every 5 or 6 days. The 8.0 so far has good power and also doesn't use oil. I might add these are distributor engines so don't have coil packs...
I think the heads are based off gm 496/8.1 possibly... The whole engine is loosely based on gm... The firing order is different though.
They do seem to follow aftermarket tricks, for instance you really don't know which style spark plug they will take, as they aren't consistent with some of that... The 8 liter takes a whole different spark plug than any of the 454 or 496 engines I've had. That part is frustrating, but so far good experience with them. | |
