Really need to mic the block where the cam bearing spun, if its within spec theres nothing wrong with installing new cam bearings and running some more. Best to check rod and main bearings also, if a cam bearing was spun it was restricting oil to other bearings, or bleeding off enough pressure to cause rod/main bearing trouble.
