SESD | FWIW, my dad used a stationary electric man lift in his house. Probably got it used for a grand or 2. Just framed an opening in the floor and put that in the basement. Not fancy, but does the job just as good. Can also easily replace the unit if needed.
Not saying I would do a basement in an ada situation, but this a cheap way to make it work good as opposed to an actual elevator.
