Central Kentucky | I am about to start fall calving and presented with a problem I haven't encountered before. I either have dogs or coyotes getting in my cattle and have heard good things about using llamas to guard cattle. Looking for advice from those with experience. A guy in my area has a six month old male he will sell for $1,200. Probably too young?
This all came about when one of my cows calved early with twins. One morning after two days I found one calf half eaten and the next morning the other calf had a chunk bitten out of its back paralyzing so I had to put it down. This sure isn't a good way to start calving season...
