My hay with Birdsfoot trefoil is absolutely awesome for calves. No bloat.

Red clover hay is good but it takes an extra 2 days to dry longer than alfalfa unless you actually seeded the newer & faster drying varieties of red clover. IMO - baleage for red clover is ideal to minimize the dust fungus that makes it hard to breathe/horrible for horses’ lungs
