No, I think he meant King Solomons Temple in Jerusalem, you know, way back in Old Testament days. That's a bit of tall tale stretching some like to reach for. My Ma's dad, grand dad, great grand dad and lord knows who else in the family tree were free masons. Pretty much crapped out by my generation.
I sure wouldn't say it's Satanic. For a lot of guys who are not regular church attendees, it's kind of a pseudo-christian, morality boosting club that at least substitutes for a church body. Probably does more good than harm. Lot of Protestant denominations are on board with it, others, well you can't be a communicant member of the church and a Mason. Same goes for Roman Catholics(that's why they formed the Knights of Columbus, so their guys could dress up in fancy regalia and off set the temptation) and I imagine the Orthodox take a dim view towards it as well.
Overall, they're just people, some good, some not so good, trying to get along in this world while they're still breathing and they think the lodge helps. There's worse things to get involved in.
