Subject: RE: Hwy 36 in Kansas

McLean county IL
For many years I've traveled back n forth on 36 across Hannibal MO thru St Joe to Belleville KS. KS stretch mostly two lane. Good road. Be on guard for a tractor or other farm equip up over the hills as they do run on 36.
Be patient for them or getting behind a few semis or slower travelers ( trying to pass on two lane of course)
About every twenty five miles or so you drive thru modest sized towns ( Sabetha, Hiawatha, Marysville, Washington. So watch speed limits going thru. It's Pony Express highway ( in Marysville, go one block south off 36 and drive thru the older shop area. Some older bldgs from the Pony express days ) Mary's like also noted for their black squirrels

Summary: nice scenic route Be patient and enjoy the scenery. Much less congested, fast pace like on I-70

Good luck
