EC SoDak | Don’t go all in, but certainly spread the risk if you’re marketing your crop. Especially if you’re one of the multiple folks I’ve chatted with that are 10% or less hedged/sold on new crop.
It’s fine, do what you want to do. I’m guessing if folks sat down, looked at the seasonal chart I posted, many would wish they had marketed that way. Yes, there tend to be 1 or 2 years you get kicked in the balls, but you make that up typically on the backend and then the rest of the years you do pretty dang well. If gut feelings and you know better than the market is your way, have at it. | |
