Cherokee iowa | Got an 80 out of a quarter planted April 10 101-33 at 35500. Other 80 is beans. On rotation. Last year corn was 20% under aph. Whole farm gets cattle manure. Applied 180 AA last fall. This year I’ve rated this farm excellent all year. Was planted early enough to root down and have age before the heavy rains started. Was knee high by fourth of June and tasseled July 4th. My goal to start the year was 240-250. Aph is 233. Haven’t had an above aph in corn for four years here. Because of drought. Local basis confirms that. Later planted has drowned out spots and it’s whole other issues with that. I’ve lucked out weather wise. North at my good neighbors. 20 miles Got quarters that are flat as a pancake will be 30% below aph. Idk where the yield ends up nationwide but it won’t be a record here but there will be records here possibly if that makes sense. Goal now of 255 number 2 corn on this field. Beans little over knee high need some good weather and some showers to pod the tops and fill the pods. Idk what to think on them 60 to 80 bushel depending on the weather I guess aph 71.
