While a building in the woods sounds ideal, it's not.. Every tree that is standing now, will eventually come down.. I would stay far enough away to put down your concrete. That way you get away from most of the roots etc,they make a poor base for concrete.

I would also do as others suggested get rid of roots ,build it as high out of the ground as possible.. The years have a way of making a building shrink into the ground or the ground comes up to meet it. Cut the trees down that may fall on your building or accept the risk.
